Swaythling railway station is 130 years old, and a celebration is being held by Three Rivers Community Rail Partnership on Sunday, October 6.
There will be old station photograph displays, children’s art competitions, cake making competitions, bike doctors, station quizzes, transport information, raffles, mayoral visits, face painting and more, from 1-4pm.
And a mere youngster is celebrating another birthday on Sunday, October 13: if you’re in the Chandlers Ford area the railway station will be ten, and similar activities on offer, again from 1-4pm.
Three Rivers Rail is a community rail partnership made up of local authorities, local people and the rail industry working to promote local train services.
