Police say the incident happened just after 11.30pm, when a woman knocked on the door of the home. As someone answered, the group of four forced their way in and demanded property.
However it’s believed they may have got the wrong address as they left shortly afterwards without stealing anything or threatening violence.
The people inside were left shaken but unharmed.
The woman who knocked on the door is described as white, in her late 20s or early 30s, 5” 4’ tall, slim, “pale and malnourished” with dark blonde hair.
Detective Constable Lee Murden from the Western Investigation Team said: “We believe this group targeted the wrong address, but their intentions were clear. We are keen to hear from anyone who can help us identify the people involved.
“We are particularly interested in speaking with anyone who can identify the woman who knocked on the door, do you recognise her description? Please get in contact.”
If you have information you can contact the police by phoning 101 quoting reference 44180017919, or call Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
