Library: petitions presented; volunteer staff suggested

Tory Bitterne Park ward councillors Peter Baillie and Phil Williams are backing library users and urging the party's Culture & Leisure spokesman Cllr Hannides to "find a solution," according to the Daily Echo. Cllr Hannides has suggested that volunteers could help staff the facility. There is further Echo coverage here.

Friends of Cobbett Road Library, who organised the petition and lobby, thanked all those who had signed so far, and reminded residents that they can still register their views until December 21 by

The Friends meet again at Cobbett Road on Saturday December 22, when coffee and mince pies will be served and the next steps in their campaign will be discussed.
