Record numbers help clean up cemetery

ImageA record number of volunteers joined Friends of Southampton Old Cemetery in their Spring clean yesterday. 28 volunteers joined the regular FoSoC team on a sunny Saturday to prune, lop and chop.

The  clean up came in advance of a special walk to be attended by Councillor Barnes-Andrews, Southampton's recently re-elected Labour Mayor, held on Sunday.

Cemetery walks are usually advertised on portswood.info's Events Guide and provide a fascinating insight into the Cemetery's inhabitants and wildlife. Titanic Walks have attracted 200 people at a time.
