Residents of several Portswood streets are being asked to move their cars on 31 July and 1 August in order for the council to give the road a thorough clean - and non compliance could lead to a ticket or even a tow! Read on for details and a map.

Avenue Rd, Tennyson Rd, Portswood Avenue and Shakespeare Avenue are all set for cleaning by machine and by hand to sweep roads and pavements, clear gullies and clean "street furniture" (benches, signs etc). Map here

There will be no parking between 8am - 11am on ODD Numbers side of these roads on Thursday 31 July
and on the EVEN numbers side of the roads on 1 August.

A leaflet has been delivered to houses in these areas to alert residents.

It says "We respectfully ask for your co operation in keeping the road free of any parked vehicles for this short period of time. If co operation is not forthcoming then we will apply for a Traffic Regulation Order to suspend all parking, which could result in vehicles being booked or removed".
