Police are appealing for help in tracing a man who made sexually explicit remarks to a school girl before assaulting her. The incident happened on on 7 November when the 15 year old was walking home along the path that leads from Hill Lane to Cemetery Road alongside The Common.
The victim of the assault ignored the man's remarks and walked past. He then grabbed her and threw her to the ground and then kicked her before running off.
Though she only suffered minor injuries the victim was left shocked by the incident and was very scared at the time that something even worse was going to happen to her.
The attacker is described as: White, in his late 20s, medium build around 5ft 9ins tall and wearing a grey tracksuit with its hood up.
Officers are now appealing for information about who the man may be or from anyone else who saw him hanging around the area. They would also like to hear from anyone who may have been approached themselves and not yet reported it.
