We suggested in 2008 that there might be few more chances to step inside the Portswood landmark that is The Broadway - better known as Mecca Bingo. And in February we reported that owners Rank were considering an offer for the site. Now it's reported that the offer from Victory Gospel Church has been accepted, and Mecca will close in Portswood in May. Change of use permission will be required to turn it into a church centre - likely to be opposed by residents' groups.
