Part of Thomas Lewis Way is closing overnight between 8pm and 5am from May 4 for up to six weeks while the footbridge is painted and tree cutting takes place. The bridge will be closed 24/7 over the period.

Following this the footbridge will stay fully closed for another two weeks, but the road will reopen.
“As this work will be done at height over the road, we have made the decision to fully close Thomas Lewis Way during working hours to minimise the risk to our workforce and the public.
“This is being completed overnight to reduce disruption to the area,” says the council’s transport website, which also gives the pedestrian and vehicle diversion routes.
