'Over the garden fence’, an informal community “yard sale day” that sees locals set up stalls to sell, buy, give away and perhaps most importantly chat to neighbours, pops up again in St Denys on Sunday (May 30).

Last month saw an estimated 30 ‘stalls’ around the area, particularly around Priory, Ivy and Adelaide Roads.
Speaking to bitternepark.info at the time at her Ivy Road stall, Sharon Sloper said: “It gives you a chance to meet your neighbours. Where we've been so avoiding each other, and crossing the road to avoid each other, we can get a little bit closer than we have been. And it's a very friendly neighbourhood anyway, isn't it?
"So a great way to meet people in your neighbourhood, where you'd been shut indoors all this time."
Stalls are expected to pop up from 11am – 2pm, and ‘Over the garden fence’ runs on the last Sunday of every month this summer.
