Friends of Bitterne Station will be having another working meeting on Saturday (July 3) 11am-1pm as the group strives to create a cleaner, greener railway station. Meanwhile the station has been the location for apparently new graffiti.

The graffiti, possibly from the weekend, and described by one reader as “disgraceful”, is on the wall of the road bridge.
More is by the footpath that leads to Bitterne Road West, thought to be from about two weeks ago.
Ziggy Woodward, stressing that she didn’t speak for the Friends group, said her own personal opinion was that “as graffiti goes, it’s well executed and colourful”.
She added: “I'm more annoyed by the sheer amount of dog poo left on Macnaghten Rd by careless owners. That and the human sh*t around the backs of the cars nr Bitterne Station.. with used loo roll festooning the trees.”
Yuk.
You can find out more about the Friends group, and make contact if you want to lend a hand gardening, chatting and planting at Bitterne Station on Saturday (or at other times by arrangement), via their Facebook page.
“We looking forward to meeting old and new Friends of Bitterne Station, everyone is welcomed,” says the group on Facebook.
