A number of temporary cameras are in place around the frequently clogged intersection of the A335 and A3035, as well as in Portswood and Swaythling.
A spokesperson for Southampton City Council told bitternepark.info: “ANPR cameras have been set up by Intelligent Data on behalf of the council at locations across Portswood and Swaythling, including the intersection of the A335 and A3035 St Denys Road/Thomas Lewis Way.
“This information is being collected to monitor traffic flows. The cameras will be in place for a week and will be removed at the end of next week. No personal data will be kept by Intelligent Data or the council as part of this monitoring.”
Hi Ash, we have confirmed with @SouthamptonCC that this is for traffic information collection. To gain an understanding of the volume of traffic and types of vehicle using the route.
