The latest outdoor dance spectacle from the acclaimed experiential performance duo Requardt & Rosenberg descends on Southampton’s Guildhall Square from July 15-17.

Future Cargo is a sci-fi dance show performed in a 40-foot haulage truck and, like all Requardt & Rosenberg’s shows, “it delivers the delicate integrity of a deeply intimate experience within a large-scale dance spectacle”, according to a press release.

Audiences experience the “strange and unstoppable process” of Future Cargo through binaural headphones.

This is Requardt & Rosenberg’s fourth outdoor show. They create performances away from traditional auditoriums, making highly visible, unique events with a distinctive format.

Originally due to tour in 2020, the show has apparently been reworked “to make it Covid secure for 2021 audiences and its performers”.

Co-commissioned by Mayflower 400 Southampton, in partnership with The Place, Future Cargo will be performed at Southampton’s Guildhall Square on the 15, 16 and 17 July at 8pm.

Tickets are available on a pay-what- you-can basis, starting at £3.
