A post on The Junction’s Facebook page suggests a falling out with pubco Greene King.

Greene King is currently advertising on its website for “an enthusiastic new operator” for the pub, which it describes as “popular and well-known … located in a large residential area, at the heart of St Denys”.

The Junction is, at the time of writing, the only one still listed on Southampton City Council’s Asset of Community Value (ACV) register – but it looks as if its ACV status expires on July 14.

As we reported at the time, the pub was nominated as an ACV by locals in 2016. The status grants the community an option to bid should it ever go onto the market.

It’s thought the pub is a Grade II listed building.
