Campaigners have confirmed that an application requesting a judicial review of Eastleigh Borough Council’s decision to approve the airport’s runway extension has been submitted to the High Court.

Since last month Airport Expansion Opposition Southampton (AXO) has raised more than £35,000 to fund legal action calling for the decision to undergo “independent scrutiny”.
At the time of writing £16,805 has been raised via a crowdfunder from 331 donors.
Campaigners said they are confident they’ll be granted permission for a full judicial review.
The council previously said it was confident that its decision-making process was sound.
