Candidates for May 2011 local election

polling station signPolling stations will be open from 7am to 10pm on Thurs, May 5 for the local council elections, and the AV referendum. Click read more' for the list of local candidates.

 

Councillors are elected in thirds, meaning each year one of the three councillors from each ward retires and their seat is put up for election and appointed for a further four years. This is repeated every year for three years and in the fourth year there is no election.

Candidates standing in Bitterne Park are:

Baillie, Peter Andrew - The Conservative Party Candidate
Boulton, Linda - Trade Unionists and Socialists Against Cuts
Chaloner, Mark - The Labour Party Candidate
Robinson, Robbie - Liberal Democrat

Over the river in Portswood ward, which includes St Denys, the candidates are:
Bluemel, Christopher Francis - Green Party
Chaffey, Nick - Trade Unionists and Socialists Against Cuts
Claisse, Matthew Nicholas - The Conservative Party Candidate
Knight, Pete - Southampton First
Reed, Keith Alfred - Liberal Democrat
Vaughan, Olivia Wallace - The Labour Party Candidate
