Rather out of our area, but given that Telegraph Woods is a popular haunt for walkers (and we happened to be there at the time!), we thought we'd report on a fire off Moorhill Road in West End this morning just after midday.

It was in a large building at the back of a house, although the flames - which were several feet high - appeared to be in the nearby Southern Water area close to the woods. Hampshire Fire and Rescue Service said two jets were used to extinguish the flames, by 1.40pm.
