Speaking at the event, organiser Victoria Ugwoeme said “it was all about community spirit, coming together celebrating having a social hub”.

“Not everyone gets to have a party, so I wanted everyone to have the chance to have a party," she said.

"For kids, having free ice cream, free drinks, makes their day.”

She said they get to win prizes, and from the art and craft table “whatever they make they take home”.

“So [it’s] something to make them remember the summer holiday.”

She added that feeding people is not just about food, but that these kinds of events help tackle loneliness by bringing people together, and offer help and support to parents.
