GOESA Ltd, a private company set up by opponents of the expansion plans, says it has received donations from more than 400 people, and that it is “well on its way to achieving its target of £100,000”.
The total includes over £20,000 from anti-expansion group Airport Expansion Opposition Southampton (AXO) raised through its continuing crowd-funding appeal.
AXO, whose campaign seems to have recently become more visible locally, said in a press release last week GOESA has formally applied to the High Court for a judicial review. It has briefed the law firm Leigh Day and will be represented by David Wolfe QC - the same team behind the recent successful attempt to have the Stonehenge Tunnel declared illegal.
Comments from AXO, the airport and Eastleigh Borough Council about the move are included in our previous piece.
