Motorists will have to navigate a week of road closures as the county council resurfaces part of the A27 from next week.
From September 24 to October 2 Hampshire County Council will be resurfacing the A27 between Chalk Hill and Allington Lane, near Swaything.
To go around the roadworks motorists can drive through West End Road and Townhill Way instead.
“I would like to reassure local residents and road users that the team will do all that they can to minimise disturbance and disruption while this work is undertaken and I would also to thank them in advance for their patience and understanding.”
A second phase of closures will take place from October 18-28, for follow-up works to existing drain covers and new road markings.
The road will need to be temporarily closed to all vehicular traffic from 8pm-6am each night.
The council has also warned that delays are ‘likely’ while the roadworks are completed.
