One person walking in the park this morning (Oct 5) said that it had looked as if it had been "ready to go" for a while, and a couple of people remarked on how sad it was to see it happen. On our Facebook, where there's more comment, Jacquie Harries wrote: "I loved that tree!!". It's thought no one has been hurt. Work was already well underway by 11am to start clearing it from the park.
