It's thought [21/10/21 now confirmed] the closure is to complete roof repairs and allow for the safe removal of scaffolding from the listed building, which houses the company selling paddle boards.
The scaffolding was put up in August.
Southampton City Council have been asked to confirm details, but have said the route will still be open for pedestrians and cyclists.
