Glenfield Avenue is described by one resident as “a horrible rat run during peak hours”, where drivers “race down ... at all times”.
An online survey has been set up to assess residents’ opinions, and organisers are also “planning to go house to house to survey those who are not online”.
As reported, it follows similar calls for 20mph limits in Whitworth Crescent, Whitworth Road, Harcourt Road and Macnaghten Road, and more recently Oaktree, St Catherines and Dimond roads.
SCC has recently introduced a new process enabling communities to request 20mph speed limits in their local neighbourhoods.
There are also petitions on the council’s website calling for 20mph zones in Stafford, Arthur and Anglesea roads in Shirley.
