Work to improve ‘gateway’ to Saltmead footpath

saltmead children playing signWork is due to start in St Denys from Monday (Nov 29) for up to three weeks, that will close the junction of Priory Road and Aberdeen Road to traffic.

The Saltmead footpath will also not be accessible from Priory Road, as work on “footway improvements and a new kerb alignment build out which presents the opportunity for planting” takes place.

“Pedestrians will still be able to use the junction, but not access Saltmead. Vehicular access to Kent Road, Aberdeen Road and Priory Road will be via St Denys Road only,” says the council’s Connecting Southampton website, where there’s more information.
