Track 21 Interiors, which sells antiques, decorative furniture and interior design services, has announced it’s leaving the Triangle.

From March 1 the business, which also offers coffee to customers and passers-by, is focusing on its online offering and says it will be investing in “big warehouse space which will enable us to buy at the stock levels we need to”.

“Whilst we LOVE being customer facing, we simply can’t stretch ourselves far enough to keep up with the ever changing demands of the business,” Track 21 said on social media.

Their current Victorian shop, at 5 Cobden Avenue, was restored in a labour of love by the owners before it opened in November 2018.

Steve Amies “spent many a dark 6am morning risking frost bitten fingers, scraping 6 layers of external wood paintwork from door frame and windows with the help of his trusty head torch and heat gun!”, according to Track 21’s site.

This revealed original features such as decorative wall tiles, and ebonised floor boards that had been hidden under laminate.

The restoration is documented through pictures on their site.

Before becoming Track 21 the shop had been used for various businesses, including most recently a secondhand-clothes-to-recycle operation.

We reported in 2008 on Swan Express that opened there, replacing H Food and Wines, while the Track 21 renovation work revealed signage for a tanning and beauty shop.

Track 21 said on their Facebook feed that the shop is to be taken over by SOroast coffee.

“We are excited to announce that we will be passing the baton to our friends at @soroastcoffee who will take over the lovely space from us. We are so pleased to be able to handover to another amazing, local small business and can’t wait to support them and know that you will too, in the same way you have for us. “

SOroast, who say on their own site they’ve been “Bringing outstanding, freshly roasted coffee to Hampshire and beyond since 2015”, told bitternepark.info that they would definitely be moving in - but couldn’t yet confirm details or timescale.
