An Eastleigh Liberal Democrat councillor who recently resigned has hit out at Eastleigh’s governing Lib Dem party, and paid tribute to a councillor who resigned the party whip after the council overturned a committee decision to refuse planning permission for Southampton Airport’s runway extension.

Jepthe Doguie paid special tribute to Cllr Tina Campbell, who, as reported, resigned the Lib Dem whip in March 2021 after the council overturned the area committee decision to refuse planning permission.
He’s now endorsed his former Eastleigh Central ward rival, Labour candidate Josh Constable.
In a letter to Eastleigh News Doguie also criticises councillors who voted in favour of the planning application.
