The council’s Southampton Travel said on Twitter that work is now “ready to go ahead”, following previous work to prepare the area near St Denys railway station that saw overnight work in January.

But Monday’s operations will apparently mean daytime single file traffic.

“Traffic management will be in place between 10:30am and 15:30pm with the same single file traffic and temporary signals as were in place for previous works,” they said.
