There was a route change this year meaning runners came from Whitworth and went straight down to the park, rather than going along some of Manor Farm Road. Crowd numbers also appeared to be down on previous years.

However writing on our Facebook page, Cllr Dave Fuller said: "Really great effort by Bitterne Parkers! Helped keep me running on!"

And Mike Donovan said: "The people of Bitterne were easily the best support on the route. Really gave me a boost on my way around."
