The temporary multi-way signals at the junction of Cobden Bridge, St Denys Road and Priory Road are being removed on Friday afternoon (April 29) - in time for the upcoming bank holiday weekend.

Vehicles were getting into position to remove the lights at lunchtime.
According to the council's Southampton Travel account, minor works will continue in the area, but the much-hated temporary lights "will not be reinstated for this".

Work, which started around April 11, was originally due to end on April 22, but has continued for an extra week. Southern Water were invited to offer more information and comment on the work when we contacted them on Tuesday.

Some minor works will continue in the area until full works completion, however, signals will not be reinstated for this.
