Now owner Robin Bluemel says it is “all go for Tuesday”.

He said a new dry goods dispensary was still “probably a week or two off”, but the “cheese counter, new wine range, huge liquid refill station, herb garden should be go,” along with the store’s usual ranges of “veggies, local produce, ethical groceries, fine foods and more”.

Much of the refit has been made with reclaimed wood, and it includes two new rather lovely outside tables where you can even sit and enjoy a drink from the extensive selection.

il picchio exterior sept 22In other Triangle shop news, it’s not confirmed what will replace the Il Picchio cafe following its closure at the start of this month. Il Picchio was opened in 2006 by Sandro Filipik, and changed hands in 2015. Sandro tragically died in a cycling collision a year later. Before Il Picchio, the cafe traded as Amelie’s Food Emporium, and specialised in chocolate.
