Update 3: Two teenage boys were hospitalised with knife injuries following reports of an assault at Bitterne Park Triangle on Monday (Oct 17). Three other teenagers were arrested.
At least six blue light vehicles were in attendance at the Triangle in Bitterne Park at around 3.30pm, and a person was seen lying on the pavement near the Persian carpet shop receiving medical treatment from an ambulance crew.
Police later said in a statement:
"At 3.33pm on Monday, 17 October police were called to Cobden Avenue, Bitterne following reports of a serious assault. Two boys, aged 13 and 14, both from Southampton were assaulted and taken to hospital for treatment. Two 13-year-old boys and a 14-year-old boy, all from Southampton, have been arrested on suspicion of causing grievous bodily harm with intent. They are currently in police custody.

Police said their injuries were caused by a knife, but are "not thought to be life threatening."
They later added on Twitter that they're not looking for anyone else.
Patrols were stepped up in the area throughout the evening with a cordon in place.
On Tuesday the BBC, quoted a Bitterne Park School message to parents as saying: "We are saddened that members of our school community have been involved in this incident and our thoughts are with everyone affected.
"We are working closely with police to understand the events that unfolded and to support their investigation."
