Work is due to start to improve the bus stop, access for pedestrians and the cycle lane on Cobden Bridge from Monday (October 31).

It will involve the replacement of some of the kerb stones and gullies at either end of the bridge, as well as placing new road markings on the road surface.
The first phase is expected to take a fortnight with work from around 7.30am – 5.30pm, although it is weather dependent.
The council’s contractor Balfour Beatty says two-way traffic will be maintained throughout but there will “traffic management, including barriers in the carriage way”.

They say: “The bus stop on Cobden Bridge near to The Boathouse apartments will be temporarily out of service and access via the gate to The Boathouse will also be closed off, this is necessary due to the proximity of our works area. Access to and from Riverside Park will be maintained throughout the works.”
At a later date, phase two will involve the removal of current road markings and then re-lining with the new road markings – work which will take place overnight.

It's unclear whether the work is related to that signposted on the bridge due to start today (October 24) - see our previous piece. Update 25/10/22: It looks like this sign has now been updated to indicate work starting on October 31.
