The Haunted House on the Hill Halloween display has raised £1700 - just over last year's total - for charity Abby's Heroes, it's been announced.

As reported, the event saw queues form around the corner from the Thorold Road house into Dimond Hill, with perhaps the majority of visitors doing so in fancy dress.
Display creator Liam Arscott reported on Facebook:
"Our final total is in…
"This year we managed to raise an incredible £1700 for Abby's Heroes
"Thank you for all that donated money, time any anything in between you are amazing! "
Abby's Heroes supports children, young adults and their families across the south coast, diagnosed with cancer.
Commenting, Lorna Ford wrote: "It was amazing well done to you all I had a great time at the gate watching all the families coming out.
"Thank you again for doing this for Abby's Heroes you are so kind the effort you all put in is just amazing
"Great fun xxx"
And writing on Facebook after the event, Kym Passey said:
"It was amazing, gets better every year.
"Thank you to you all for all the effort you put in, and all the money you raise for a wonderful local charity.
"It was not my bravest hour, I squealed like a little piggy when what I thought was a mannequin stepped forward to greet me.
"Great night! "
