Another takeaway is to close at the Triangle in January.
Happy 2000 on Cobden Avenue says it will be open for the last time on January 9.
It will then shut as the owners retire.
In a sign to customers the owners said: “We hope you have enjoyed every dish we’ve cooked and thank you for supporting us through the years.”
It joins the Golden River Chinese takeaway on Manor Farm Road, which as reported closed at the end of October as the owners retired. They reportedly also cited rising costs for the move.
Meanwhile Golden River’s next door neighbour, the former Flower Boutique, remains boarded up - although the council did approve plans earlier this month for rebuilding work, in particular to replace the previous shop front and door.
And over Manor Farm Road there seems to be little sign of activity at the former Il Picchio cafe, where window stickers have proclaimed since October that Caribbean food is “coming soon” from Soca Shack - see our previous piece.
