‘The more the merrier’ to help clean up Chessel Bay

great chessel bay clean graphic 600pxSocial enterprise ‘Nurdle’, which removes ocean plastic from the environment using specialist equipment, is looking for volunteers to help tackle pollution at Chessel Bay – from right now until April.

Even as we write, the Nurdle team and volunteers are braving the often terrible weather through until Sunday, using special kit to remove microplastics – and generally litter-picking at the Local Nature Reserve on the eastern bank of the Itchen.

So if you ever wanted to try out one of the Nurdle crew’s special mico-vacs, this is the perfect opportunity.

And the team will be back in February (15-19), March (15-19) and April (12-16).

This weekend it’s a case of “the more the merrier”, said Josh Beech from Nurdle.
