Social enterprise ‘Nurdle’, which removes ocean plastic from the environment using specialist equipment, is looking for volunteers to help tackle pollution at Chessel Bay – from right now until April.

Even as we write, the Nurdle team and volunteers are braving the often terrible weather through until Sunday, using special kit to remove microplastics – and generally litter-picking at the Local Nature Reserve on the eastern bank of the Itchen.
So if you ever wanted to try out one of the Nurdle crew’s special mico-vacs, this is the perfect opportunity.

And the team will be back in February (15-19), March (15-19) and April (12-16).
