Residents have until March 9 to comment on the latest iteration of Sovereign Housing Association’s plans to develop 84 dwellings on the former St Mary’s School sports field. Image: Google
The original deadline for comments was last October. However new documents have been added to the application, and a second consultation has been opened on the council’s planning portal.
For example a 114-page transport statement has been added following further traffic surveys; key original objections were around possible traffic implications, such as volume, noise and parking - particularly from those living in current cul-de-sac Monastery Road, pictured.
Other new information is also offered including in response to Sport England’s consultee submission, as well as on sustainability, drainage and other issues.
All 65 application documents, including nine lodged this year, are available to wade through as PDFs from the council’s site under the application’s ‘Plans and Documents’ tab.
The planning application has amassed some 168 public comments, at the time of writing, since it was validated in September 2022 – all objecting.
It’s thought the application is unlikely to be heard by city councillors before May.
