Vehicles were diverted from Hillside Avenue’s junction from Bond Road almost as far as Appleton Road.

Southern Water are listed as responsible for emergency works from March 6 – 8. It’s the same area where a small sinkhole appeared last July.

Meanwhile a closure was in place on Cobden Avenue for a period on Monday, reportedly near Yarrow Heights School. It’s thought to have been for tree works. Apparently no diversion route was offered.

The road is also listed on one.network for roadworks, with a lane closure and delays likely, from March 7 – 11. The reason isn’t given.
