Charlton House Independent School’s previous, ‘standard’ inspection, was in December 2021, when the school was judged to be ‘Inadequate’ and “unmet independent school standards were found”. At the time Ofsted expressed particular concerns over some leadership and management issues.
But an ‘additional’ Ofsted inspection to monitor progress, carried out on January 17, 2023 and published this week, found that the Midanbury Lane school now meets all of the independent school standards checked.
The £8,328-a-year non-selective Roman Catholic school for boys and girls aged 4-11 said on Facebook it was “excited” to announce the outcome of the latest inspection.
“We are grateful to Ofsted for all their positive comments,” it announced.
“To celebrate, we are offering prospective pupils a discount on our academic fees.”
It said it’s now offering prospective pupils 50% off fees for the rest of this academic year, and 25% off the 23/24 year.
