The plans, which include protected cycle lanes, upgraded bus stops, and the removal of parking spaces, will be funded by the government's Transforming Cities Fund, which the government says aims to “improve productivity by investing in public and sustainable transport infrastructure in English cities”.

Traffic orders are open for public feedback until March 24, following an earlier consultation in March 2022.
