Charlton House is a small independent school in the heart of Bitterne Park. It was reopened during covid, after the main St Mary’s college site closed three years ago. With fantastic grounds, amazing facilities and a passionate and dedicated staff team, Charlton House is eager to show the local community what it has to offer.

New Head Teacher, Lea Pay, says: “The school has such a warm and friendly feel to it; I felt this when I first looked around the school. The children thrive in small classes and are taught to ‘love one another’, which is the school’s motto.

"The school itself has an interesting and rich history and alumni of both Charlton House and St Mary’s College, regularly come back to visit. I feel very privileged to have taken on this role in such an amazing school. I hope that by opening the school to the local community, everyone will be able to see how special the school really is.”
