As reported, the shop originally said on recruitment signage that it would open in February.
“We were hoping for earlier this year but as we started to do work we discovered there were a few more things we should do before we open,” the owners explained via email on Wednesday (May 3).
However they added there is as yet no “definitive opening date”.

They confirmed: “We are looking to re-open with all the historic goods that Cottons has provided for the last 50 years but also combining with some of the products from Plested Pies of Shirley High street.”
Graham Cotton’s bakery closed at the site last June after 49 years.
