Non-profit group Touch Network is hosting a city-wide walk from Bitterne Park to the city centre on May 27, encouraging communities to celebrate how we overcome life's challenges.

The group specialises in running neighbourhood story-sharing evenings, where speakers talk about overcoming personal challenges, and which support mental health in Southampton.
‘Walk With Us’ raises funds so the group can continue to offer events free of charge, and will feature a seven-mile loop, starting and ending in Bitterne Park.
Participants can create colourful butterflies, which will be distributed to members of the public along the way as a symbol of transformation and hope.
“We want to surprise members of the public on the day with a colourful gift,”said organiser Sophie Lister. “Butterflies are a symbol of transformation, and we hope they’ll remind people that even the hard times in life can give us something beautiful.”
Anyone who can’t make it on the day but wants to offer support can sponsor a butterfly and leave an inspiring message at the event’s gofundme page.
