Police say they’re aware of an “unauthorised encampment” at Riverside Park.

A number of vehicles, including around six or seven caravans, are positioned around the perimeter of the main field at the Woodmill end of Riverside this morning (June 7).

In a statement Hampshire and Isle of Wight constabulary said: “We are aware of an unauthorised encampment on the grounds of Riverside Park in Southampton. Our officers have attended the site to assess the situation.

“We are working closely with the landowners to seek a suitable resolution.”
