Labour has been successful in the Coxford election, which took place on June 22, increasing the party’s city council majority still further following the May local elections.

The Coxford ward poll had to be abandoned on May 4, when there was a city-wide local election, following the death Graham Galton, who had been one of the candidates.
Rebecca May Mccreanor, Matt Renyard and Beccy Ruddick have now been elected for Labour to represent the ward.
The new make-up of Southampton City Council:
Labour – 38
Conservative – 9
Liberal Democrat – 3
Green – 1
