The boardwalk, which provides a route for pedestrians and cyclists between Horseshoe Bridge and Mount Pleasant Industrial Estate in Northam, is to undergo repairs closing the route during daytimes.

Renovation work aims to repair vandalism and incorporate joints into the existing railings, ensuring long-term refurbishment and maintaining what the council describes as “high safety standards” for regular boardwalk users.
It starts from Monday, July 31 and work is expected to last approximately five days, closing the route during construction hours of 9am to 4pm over the period. There will be a signed diversion route via Empress and Imperial roads.
As reported, the route previously closed for about three weeks in early 2020 for repairs to erosion damage.
