It runs until October 1.

The aim of the scheme, which has created at times a heated debate between those in favour and those against, is to “attract more people to visit local businesses, improve air quality in the area, make the streets safer for people walking and cycling and improve bus journey times and reliability,” says the council

It adds that during the Phase 1 consultation, in November 2022, residents and businesses “showed support”, although concerns were raised, and more information was requested about details.

The council says it’s now compiled the requested impact information, including an “independent economic assessment” detailing the effects on businesses, new data on the impact on local roads, and on other issues.
