The date for the Bitterne Precinct Christmas lights switch-on event has been confirmed, and centres including Bitterne Park and Portswood will see the return of their festive lights this year.

The council has announced that there will be a Christmas lights switch-on in Bitterne Precinct on Saturday, November 18 at 5pm, organised by Churches Together in Bitterne.
And festive lights will be back in seven district shopping centres from the same date, including Bitterne Park Triangle and Portswood. They will be on from 3:30pm to 11:00pm, said Southampton City Council.
The council and GO! Southampton are providing festive lighting in the city centre this year, including at Above Bar Street, Bedford Place and Carlton Place, Commercial Road (by Mayflower Theatre), Bargate, East Street, Hanover Buildings, High Street, London Road, Oxford Street.
City centre Christmas lights will be on from 3:30pm to 12 midnight from November 16, 2023 to January 5, 2024.
