Arrest follows Cobden Bridge incident

Cobden Bridge incident 26 10 23 by Chris TopleyMultiple police cars, an ambulance and two fire engines attended Cobden Bridge just before 4pm on Thursday (Oct 27) following reports to police that a woman had entered the water with two young children.

In a statement, Hampshire Constabulary said: “Emergency services attended the scene and all three people were recovered and received treatment. Cobden Bridge was temporarily closed but has since been reopened. We will be conducting enquiries in the area.
 
"A 31-year-old woman from Southampton has been arrested on suspicion of attempted murder. She remains in custody.”
