Wander around winter wonderland trail in St Denys

grinch displayA winter wonderland trail, including nutcrackers, fairy doors and a Grinch display, is now live around St Denys.

The trail — shown on a map below — offers the chance to wander around mainly the south side of St Denys until January 1 and enjoy what’s described as “a truly magical trail of winter wonder”.

Kids can spot the nutcracker characters, count the fairy doors, enjoy the lights and decorations, and finish at a Grinch Garden outside St Denys Church.

Artist Helen Timarco Ransome, who’s been involved with creating the artwork, said: “The trail is the nutcrackers, fairy doors and yesterday I added the Grinch display at the church. There are also light displays and window decorations which will be added over the month.

“I made the nutcrackers last year and local people painted them, there are a few more to go up that are still being painted. The Grinch I made last year and added characters to it. The tree is covered with eye hooks so kids can add decorations to it.

“Also coming is a ‘wishing wall’ for people to add a tag with their wishes or prayers onto the fence opposite the school.”

“Hopefully it brings a little bit of cheer!” she added.

There are also three special post boxes in Stanley Road, Priory Road and Adelaide Road for children to use to send a letter to Santa; more details in our previous piece here.
