The enigma of the no-parking bollards that recently appeared on Bond Road is solved, as utility work starts and temporary lights are positioned — for motorists, and pedestrians crossing Manor Farm Road.

The footpath on the Soca Shack side of Bond Road is now closed up to about the halfway point, as is the zebra crossing across Manor Farm Road, with two temporary pedestrian crossings installed in its place.
For motorists, there are temporary lights on Bond Road and Manor Farm Road around the junction and the work area.
Several days’ work — then on gas — took place in a similar area at the Triangle last April.
https://one.network lists the work, by Scottish and Southern Power Distribution, scheduled to last up to January 16. It’s understood the work to connect a supply to the newly-renovated property opposite Hilton Motors.
As reported, carriageway work is also expected to take place further along Manor Farm Road near the school on Thursday 11, although this doesn’t appear on the one.network map.
