The library at Cobbett Road, which relies on volunteers to run and provide a service, will now be open on Friday afternoons in addition to the current Wednesdays, it’s been announced.

As reported, since the end of January the library is now run by community radio stations Awaaz and Fiesta FM, following a two-year break in service.
Opening hours have now been announced as:
Wednesdays: 1 – 5pm
Fridays: 1-4.30pm
It had been hoped that it would also open on Mondays, and eventually on Saturdays. However it’s understood that there are more volunteers who are currently being trained, so further hours are still the aspiration.
Anyone wanting to join the volunteering team is invited to leave their details at the library.
